Heating solutions to match customer requirements
Why buy a heating system when you just want to keep warm?
EBM has an international agenda in the heating industry. And it chose the right time to set out on this course. As part of localised heating provision dating back to the early 1980s, EBM developed its “combined heat and power plant with heat pump”, a concept that is now regarded as ground breaking in the area of energy policy. This created an early interface between electricity and heat, opening the way to develop more know-how. We built the first combined heat and power plant in 1982. EBM has continued to develop its pioneering role, working in the area of fuel cells since 2000 and with micro gas turbines since 2002.
EBM uses state-of-the-art technology for production that is both efficient and gentle on resources to run over 150 heat stations in Switzerland alone today – making it one of the country’s largest localised heat suppliers. The idea of heat contracting is central to all projects. The experts at EBM Wärme AG set up the contracting projects, build them and then run the plants with the customers’ preferred power suppliers. Most customers today want environmentally-friendly sources of energy, such as woodchips, wood pellets, solar power or biomass energy sources. There are also innovative and environmentally-friendly developments that use the heat from waste water and refuse incineration. Our portfolio also includes plants that still use conventional energy sources. Continually testing the very latest technologies is at the forefront of EBM’s work. There is no shortage of demand for efficient, resource-saving projects. And EBM plays a leading role in this area.
