Electrical history under one roof
On the occasion of its centenary in 1997, EBM opened an electricity museum in Münchenstein, Switzerland (near Basel). The world of electricity is inexhaustible and highly charged! In the 1,000 square metres of exhibition space, visitors can begin to grasp the exciting historical development of electricity production and its use. The collection includes historical rarities and is supplemented by a techno lab in which visitors can experiment with electricity.
Opening times: Every Wednesday and Thursday from 1 pm to 5 pm. Also open on the fourth Sunday in the month from 10 am to 4 pm with a guided tour at 11 am.
When special exhibitions are running, the museum is open each Sunday. The museum is closed on bank holidays.
There is no charge for entry or guided tours.
Guided tours in German and French are also available outside opening times for groups of 10 or more. The tours also provide school classes and groups of children (from age 8) with an excellent opportunity to learn more about the topic of energy. Tours last a maximum of one-and-a-half hours. For information and to register, telephone 061 415 43 90.
