EBM has been operating internationally as a privately organised cooperative in the energy sector since 1897. Its spheres of operation include «Electricity and Network Supply», «Heating», «Telecommunications and IT» as well as «Renewable Energies and Electrical Installations». Today, EBM provides electricity to around 220000 people in northwestern Switzerland and Alsace. In addition to its core focus, electricity, EBM is the market leader in decentralised heating supply throughout Switzerland as well as in southern Germany and Alsace.
